Located at The Boulders Resort in Carefree, Arizona, the 33,000 square-foot Golden Door Spa blends Southwestern desert architecture with Eastern design influences to create a tranquil destination for wellness and renewal. Sculputral adobe forms, richly carved wood dors, natural materials, and thoughtfully designed spaces establish a distinctive connection between the surrounding Sonoran Desert and the spa’s restorative atmosphere.

I was responsible for the design and producton of all interior architectural drawings through all project phases. I coordinated with the record architect, consultants and FF&E departments. My work included designing the monumental carved entry doors and all interior millwork, developing custom architectural details that contribute to the character and identity of the spa.

Working in association with Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, the project required close coordination between interior architecture, furnishings, and the overall architectural design.
