Vaastu Meditation pavillion

Carpinteria, California

lead architect for residential new construction

Designed as a dedicated space for meditation and contemplation, this small Vaastu meditation pavillion is set within a natural landscape in Carpinteria, California. The compact structure featues a steeply pitched slate roof, stucco walls with stone detailing, and a raised platform enclosed by a low decorative perimeter wall.

The interior is organized around a traditonal Vaastu meditation structure called a Dhyana Garbha, with proportions and dimensions carefully calculated according to the ancient principles of Vaastu Shastra. The design incorporates traditional architectural elements and precise dimensional relationships to create a quiet, contemplative retreat.

Surrounded by native grasses and mature landscape planting, the meditation pavillion offers a place for stillness, connection, peace and wellbeing.
